Project Superintendent
The Project Superintendent’s primary responsibility is to lead the field staff in the successful completion of assigned projects. The Project Superintendent participates in overseeing subcontractor performance, job site safety, quality, project scheduling, and communications with the architect and consultants on field and constructability issues. This position reports to the Director of Construction.
Construction superintendents monitor projects from planning to completion, including tasks such as budgeting manpower & resources, and scheduling. Assisting in the creation and monitoring good execution of the project schedule. They follow quality control procedures, enforce standards, and adhere to the safety and security needs of the construction site.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
Ability to estimate all types of projects and to coordinate and supervise group work effort essential
Ability to identify and meet customers’ needs expectations and requirements
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessary
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that prior to
the start of construction, all processes are in place to ensure an efficient, profitable
operation. This includes managing the contract review process with clients, and
contracts/relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Works internally with
salespeople, estimators, project managers, project management support staff, VP of
Preconstruction, VP of Construction, General Superintendent, Logistics Manager and
project management support staff to ensure a smooth flow from sales to construction.
Serves as administrative resource to field crews during projects to communicate with clients, manage change orders and
expectations, etc.
This position is specifically for our multifamily/commercial concrete repair division. Advancement opportunities include
estimating and project management for geotechnical, tunnel & utility construction division.
