Vice President Retail Development Jobs (San Francisco)
   

Company: A subsidiary of a diversified real estate holding company with nine subsidiaries operating in a range of real estate investment, development, finance, and service businesses. The retail development subsidiary is the developer of retail and retail-driven mixed-use projects throughout California and the Western United States. The foundation of the retail development company is the depth of local market knowledge. Position Summary: Individual will be responsible for the development of ground up and major renovation of retail shopping centers, from inception to completion. Projects include locating of development opportunities, contact with prospective tenants, overseeing the entitlements, leasing and construction of these projects.

Results are the successful completion of retail shopping centers within schedule and on budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Individual will work with brokers and retailers to locate market areas and sites for potential development.
· Direct Acquisitions Manager in contracting to purchase sites.
· Work with market research and leasing to put together and implement a leasing plan for the site/project.
· Engages and coordinates architect, civil and structural engineers and general contractor in preparation and execution of project plans through completion of shell and tenant improvements.
· Prepares project budget including leasing income cost in center and all costs of entitlements, off-sites, plans, building permits and construction costs.
· Works with leasing agents and brokers to lease or sell space to tenants.
· Directs monthly status meetings with project team and company senior executives as well as regular meetings with acquisition, leasing and construction personnel.

Supervisory / Management Responsibilities:

V.P. is responsible for managing, leasing, project management and construction personnel including:
· Director of Leasing
· Construction Manager
· Financial Analyst

Responsible for contracting managing third party consultants for each project.

Responsible to provide guidance and direction to market research analyst and acquisitions manager. In future may also supervise a development manager.

Education and Experience Requirements: Individual would need to have a college degree and preferably an advanced degree in real estate, architecture, law, engineering or business. Additional course work includes working knowledge of plans, environmental laws, computers (especially excel) and scheduling and should have a real estate license.

Individual needs 7 to 10 years experience in retail/development, leasing, site selection and/or construction.
