Project Control Manager: Los Angeles
   

Company: A national construction consulting firm focused on providing Program, Project and Construction Management, Claims and Cost Management services to its clients. The firm boasts some of the most seasoned professionals in the industry - architects, engineers, construction managers, accountants, attorneys and technical consultants - that guide owners through every step of the construction process.

Description: Manages all project controls systems for a project or regional office. Responsible for successful implementation of project controls systems. Customizes project controls systems and works with limited supervision. Has overall responsibilities for project controls functions on project site or regional office. Assists in the performance of estimating, scheduling, and other related database tasks. May be supported by other project controls specialists on larger projects. Maintains and updates existing project controls systems. May be supported by other project controls specialists on larger projects. Maintains and updates existing project controls systems. Prepares technical and administrative reports. Develops timely, accurate in-depth analysis of cost and schedule data

Qualifications: EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: BS degree, continuing education courses in related field

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Has mastered the skills and abilities necessary to perform the Project Controls Engineer position
Proficient in a Windows-based computer environment and with programs including Primavera, Microsoft Office Suite Outlook, Word and Excel.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 6 years of experience in progressively responsible Project Controls roles

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  1. Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others.
  2. Able to communicate complex information clearly.
  3. Attentive to detail.
  4. Strong problem-solving abilities.
  5. Able to coordinate well with other departments and personnel

Responsibilities:
  1. Provides and executes project controls duties as and when needed. Sets up and runs all project control systems for a project or regional office.
  2. Demonstrates full understanding and utilization of database management systems. Able to program or set up customized database structures. Troubleshoots and solves problems related to database setups.
  3. Demonstrated proficiency with estimating software; knowledgeable of best techniques and strategies for producing estimates.
  4. Sound knowledge of CPM methodologies. Experienced with scheduling software, word processing and e-mail programs.
  5. Professional business relations exist with internal and external clients and outside vendors.
