Mechanical Safety Director (Metro DC)

The successful Safety Director will have the following experience for this position: A minimum of (5) to (7) years or more working for a Mechanical, Electrical and/or Plumbing contractor having overall responsibility for all aspects of Safety Management.

The ideal candidate should be computer literate and familiar with MS Office at a minimum. He/she must be a self-starter with a high level of integrity and be relationship driven. Should be motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills; and have the qualities of a leader with an integral knowledge of OSHA and the Safety requirements for any Mechanical, Electrical and/or Plumbing Contractor.

This individual will be responsible for implementing the Corporate Safety Program which includes:

• Administering quarterly random drug testing
• Communication of the Safety & Vehicle policy to all new hires
• All reports and follow up for Work Comp, G/L & Auto claims
• Job site Safety visits – preparing all necessary reports for each visit
• Safety training for all personnel
• Maintaining tool box talk records
• Maintaining a database of safety training for each employee
• Working with the CFO on Safety training incentives
• Preparation of OSHA 300 and 301 reports at the end of the year

There will be a generous auto allowance and gas card provided for this position. The Client is a full service Mechanical Contractor in the Metro DC/Maryland area.
