Requirements:

The GENERAL MANAGER has overall responsibility for implementing policies and procedures and taking actions that will result in the success of his or her branch, with a focus on sales and marketing and a competency of the operations. He or she is responsible for all sales activities and MANAGING operations at the branch . He or she is responsible for the branch achieving all sales and profit goals established by the President. He or she is responsible for ensuring that the branch is run efficiently and in accordance with corporate policy. Expectation of sales activities each week is a minimum of 20-30 hours. This is to include but not limited to outside presentations, telemarketing and in store merchandising.

Branch Performance:

• Gives input to the president in the development of long- and short-range goals for the branch.
• Participates in the development of the annual predetermined profit plan for the branch in accordance with the goals established by the president.
• Achievement of all sales and branch profit goals each month, quarter, and annual as assigned by corporate
• Manages and directs the Operation Manager on the cost and quality of Order Fulfillment.
- Monitors operational performance via reports such as the PFP table, Branch Audit summaries, customer service reports, etc.
• Ensures that the branch complies with all federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and statutory requirements to minimize the liability of the company.
• Creates a safe and pleasant work environment for employees and customers.
• Ensures that the branch is operated ethically and maintains its standing in the industry and in the community.
• Participates in aligning the branch culture to meet the company Values at all times.

• Works with the sales & marketing to set pricing strategy for the branch market area.
• Works with the Director of Sales Marketing to ensure that the market trends in the branches area are considered in stocking decisions. Alert Senior Operations Manager and Purchasing Manager of products that future sales will change drastically from past sales.
• Directs all activities related to merchandising of products throughout the branch, including but not limited to “Special Buys”, Counter Promos etc.
• Identifies New accounts through profiles, presentations and closes that follow the direction of the branch sales and profit goals.
• Ensure that the entire branch team is friendly, knowledgeable, in the process of expediting the customer orders.
• Responsible for implementation of all marketing programs.
• Responsible for maximizing the sales and profits for all existing accounts assigned to the branch.
• Responsible for filing of Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Sales reports, describing the actions taken to increase sales and profits.
• Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of competitors in the market area.

Experience:

Must have 5-10 years General management experience running large supply distribution center preferable in the construction arena. College degreed preferred but relative experience will be considered.
