S.R. Clarke, Inc. Is retained by an established Washington DC architectural design firm with national practice engaged in hotels, high-rise commercial- residential- mixed use educational and senior living housing projects seeks a hands on registered senior architect and director of senior living housing. The ideal candidate shall possess a minimum of 10 years experience specializing in developing all aspects of independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing senior housing national projects.

The ideal candidate in collaboration with one of the firm's managing principal will be responsible for directing and leading the planning, programming, conceptual design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration of all three senior living housing initiatives.

The selected director of senior living housing must be a hands-on design architect and manager with excellent presentation skills to potential clients, utilizing AutoCAD etc; he/she must be knowledgeable, experienced in developing all aspects of independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. This is 75% of the job description.......the remaining 25% shall include assisting the managing principal with promoting, developing and closing new senior living housing clients.

Registration and a degree in architecture is essential, as well as, a minimum of 10 years experience is required. The candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD, and experience in dealing with governmental agencies, building codes, and zoning ordinances. Must have the ability to communicate with clients, consultants, associates, community groups and contractors. Knowledge of the construction process is necessary to coordinate projects with the contractor. Must be able to work with minimum supervision and have strong organizational and computer skills.
