Design Manager need with Regional Shopping Center planning and design experience. Position will be accountable for site planning with a focus on parking, retail adjacencies, operations and architectural design. The purpose of the Design Manager position is to support the Business Unit with planning/design solutions to increase shopping center competitive edge in the market place while maintaining a cost effective budget and low operations cost Projects will range in size from 20,000 s.f. to over 1.5 million s.f. with a cost of $500,000 to in excess of $100 million.

Job Duties include:

• Responsible for site layout for compatibility with purpose of property. Examples include adequate parking, access to site, review restrictions, anchor stores and GLA.
• Support each specific developer as the project moves forward in the city processes as well as through the approvals by anchor stores
• Act as liaison between the developer and consultant(s)
• Recommend, interview and select (with Director and developer) project consultants
• Establish design concept and program building plan. Integrate leasing process with design and construction documents
• Monitor consultants through construction
• Provide visuals for presentation to the leasing group, operations, management and the communities and anchor stores.
• 50% travel

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Architecture or related design field required. Architectural State Registration preferred.
• Five plus years experience in architecture and planning, three plus years of construction and shopping center planning experience
• Understanding of building materials, budgets, use of space and time for projects
• AutoCAD 2002 or equal, Lotus Notes, excellent presentation skills
• Five plus years supervisory experience
