An excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Controller for our accounting team. The right candidate will be an integral part of a growing, dynamic and challenging environment.
Primary Function: Provide direction and leadership for the financial operations of the accounting department.
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
For this position, the Candidate will be responsible for:
· Provide direction and leadership for the financial operations of the accounting department.
· Direct and coordinate the accounting, budgeting and other financial operations of the Company. Includes providing administrative and technical supervision to staff personnel.
· Oversee the preparation of required Federal and State financial and payroll reports as well as financial and related reports to the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Executives. Responsible for tax compliance and regulatory reporting compliance.
· Direct in-service training and development of staff. Keep accounting function in step with the expansion and growth of the company.
· Direct supervision of employees in the accounting department including: interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
· Ensure that all accounting activities and functions are met within set time frames.
· Design systems and controls which meet policy standards as set by Management.
· Work with COO to monitor and schedule IT system maintenance and projects.
· Create computer reports as needed using Accounting Software or other available programs.
· Generate internal audit reports, reconciled to General Ledger. Manage ledger reconciliation and documentation of business transactions. Manage the month-end closing and reconciliation process.
· Interface with external auditors for reviews and audits.
· Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable/billing, bank reconciliation, general ledger, payroll, sales tax and general accounting functions.
· Maintain accounting practices according to GAAP.
· Develop and improve accounting practices and internal control processes. Maintain documentation of accounting policies, systems and procedures.
· Work with CFO on financial projections, financial modeling and sensitivity analyses.
· Function as management interface for Dome employees and the accounting staff members.
· Provide effective financial controls for the organization and manage vendor relationships for insurance, payroll, health care, building leases, etc.
· Establish and maintain relationship with key client counterparts.
· Establish and maintain relationship with key subcontractor counterparts
· Play a key role in the selection and implementation of a new accounting system.
· Attend monthly management meetings.
· Perform additional duties as directed by CFO.

· Strong computer skills and experience. Experience in Excel, Timberline or similar accounting software, Filemaker Pro or other database management software and Crystal Reports useful.
· Creative/strategic thinker, able to help enhance current systems.
· Ability to analyze complex issues, identify alternative solutions and communicate them effectively with management.
· Entrepreneurial drive, demonstrated ability to take on additional responsibility quickly.
· Excellent written and verbal skills
· Demonstrated leadership, planning and problem-solving skills that incorporate vision and initiative, and embrace values of continuous improvement and collaboration.
· Commitment to high standards, integrity and ethics.
Qualified Candidates will have the following experience:
· BS/BA in Accounting, finance
· CPA/or pertinent master’s degree a major plus.
· 8 years of experience.
· At least 3 years as Assistant Controller or equivalent.
· Construction industry experience.
