Company Overview:

Real estate developer of high-density multifamily projects with operations in Southern California, Northern California, and Washington. The company has developed over 6,000 residential units.

Responsibilities:

The Controller will report to the Vice President of Finance. Although the Controller will receive sufficient guidance, the individual must be self-motivated, professional, resourceful and able to multi-task in a fast-moving team environment.

Activities will include, among other things:

• Produce financial reports.
• Oversee and manage monthly financial reports.
• Primary person responsible for financial statements: balance sheets, P&L and cash flow.
• Oversee construction draws and manage cash flows.
• Hire & supervise accounting staff.
• Prepare cash flow projections.
• Oversee cash management.
• Prepare for and supervise corporate audits by outside auditors.

• A minimum of 5-10 years of accounting experience, including at least 5 years of real estate accounting.
• CPA mandatory, as well as audit experience, preferably in a Big 6 firm.
• Experience in multi-family residential properties strongly preferred. Condos a plus.
• Experience in construction-related accounting required.
• Experience with Timberline or related real estate software.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to create new reports as needed.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
