Our candidate has worked his way up through the ranks from laborer to management and is currently a Chief Estimator for a mid sized general contractor. He is degreed and became heavily involved in high end work, both residential, retail and commercial interior renovations and fit outs. His forte is estimating, which is what he prefers, though he has had management roles as well which included estimating. His current company has fallen on some hard times and has begun downsizing. the owner has him covering more roles than what he was hired to do which is taking his focus off estimating and he is interested in exploring other opportunities from lead/senior estimator to chief estimator. He has both union and non-union work under his belt, scopes all trades, negotiates and buys out projects and is computer literate. He is currently at $135K base.
