Senior Project Designer - Architecture (Houston)
   


Salary: $80-110K DOE


Our retained client, an award winning firm, national and international architecture leader, is looking for an exceptional Senior Project Designer for their Houston Healthcare Architecture practice with 5- 10 years of Architecture Project Design leadership experience. This select individual will become part of the office senior project design group that provides project design leadership and participates in carrying out design direction of the architecture practice of this respected design leader. In addition, the individual will develop conceptual designs for assigned projects, work with others through design development and be an active part of providing enthusiasm and purpose for the quality of design for this group. For the right individual, this highly respected client offers an attractive salary of $80-110K DOE along with realistic and lucrative performance bonus plan and attractive healthcare and 401k benefit plans. Responsibilities include: Project Design Leadership

  • Serve as Project Designer on selected projects—conceive and execute design, being mindful of clients’ needs, requirements, budget, schedule, and site issues.
  • Act as mentor; coaching and motivating design team members.
  •  Foster an environment of mutual respect and passion for design among team members.
  •  Help the office attract new talent through proactive measures and by upholding a reputation of design excellence.
Design and Design Management
  • Participate in project design development and provide guidance to design teams.
  • Help to establish standards for design presentations and actively participate in them.
  • Foster an environment of design exploration and innovation in order to achieve excellence in collaboration with others in the design process.
  • Manage existing design technology and continually explore, improve on and evaluate best technology solutions for presentation and production.
  • Manage the design portion of all assigned projects to respect budget and schedule constraints.  Work collaboratively with appropriate Project Managers.
  • Embrace and incorporate sustainable design principles
< Client Relations
  • Build and strengthen connections with clients through a comprehensive understanding of their needs and goals.
  • Proactively seek information about client requirements and demonstrate how they are interpreted in design solutions
  • Communicate design solutions to clients in a clear and compelling way.
Staff Relations
  •  Will be asked to participate in appropriate  employee performance evaluations
  •  Working with Design Principal and other senior designers, participate in office design reviews
Qualifications
  •   At least 12 years design experience preferably within a large-firm context
  •   A degree in architecture
  •   License to practice architecture
  •   Ability to manage teams with a collaborative leadership style which puts value on relationships, both internal and external
  •         Proven leadership in a practice or large team
  •         Excellent communication skills
  •         Facile with both manual and technology-based design tools
  •         A portfolio of project types that mesh well with firm
  •         Published and/or award winning projects a plus
  •         Proficiency in AutoCAD and or Revit, 3D computer modeling, and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
  • BA in Architecture.
  • Licensed Architect preferred.
  • 15 years of healthcare medical planning architectural experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Revit/AutoCAD ADT.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States.
