Review project plans and specifications, bid documents, and other relevant project documents
Identify all equipment, tools and material needed to create an accurate bid
Calculate labor costs based on reviewing and evaluating documents
Identify value engineering opportunities
Review specific job conditions that may affect labor and material costs
Identify any inconsistencies, conflicts, and or other problems in the bid documents
Identify and discuss strategies based on findings to create bid and or proposal advantages
Prepare “RFI” questions
Request material and equipment quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers
Reviews quotes to confirm adherence to quote requests and accuracy of quotes received
Develops and maintains a positive relationship with vendors.
Prepares bid documents including specific scope letters for each project, with adjustments for buy-outs, labor rate, productivity, etc.
Preparing budget pricing
Attend estimating and sales meetings to discuss bid status
Perform job walks as needed to ensure field conditions have been observed and adjustments have been made to reflect current site conditions
Provide documentation to support items that may affect the construction and or that may impact the prospective bid, and or that may impact the pre-construction design build services
Proactively keep direct supervisor and company management up to date and current on bid progress.
