Senior Mechanical Estimator : Western U.S.
   

Company:

200 Million Dollar a year mechanical company with over thirty years of experience in the Western United States.

Qualifications:

  • Prepare budget estimates of mechanical work for all major projects and maintain computerized estimating program (take-off and pricing).
  • Review mechanical plans during design development and through final working drawings.
  • Prepare and submit cost saving ideas and alternates to the proposed mechanical systems.
  • Prepare documents and pre-purchase various types of mechanical equipment with deliveries that conflict with a “Fast-Track” schedule.
  • Prepare final estimates with detailed take-off and pricing of all piping, ductwork and equipment.
  • Field Liaison, when requested by Project Managers.
    1. Problem solving of mechanical items.
    2. Preparation of mechanical schedules.
    3. Periodic inspection of systems for conformance to specifications.
    4. Review of submittals.
    5. Prepare check list for pre-balancing and balancing of systems.
    6. Supervise startup procedures and balancing.
    7. Review and expedite final punch list corrections.
    8. Conducts workshops and mentor training of Project Engineers for Mechanical Systems.

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in work experience with mechanical engineering firm or design/build mechanical contractor.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5-10 years experience in mechanical estimating with major mechanical contractor doing HVAC, piping and plumbing system.
