Senior Estimator (Boston)
   

Mid-size General Contractor is looking for a competent estimator/manager to join this growing company. Top notch working environment and stellar benefits package

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing detailed take offs of materials for $20mil+ projects.
  • Preparing detailed labor estimates utilizing man-hours, crews and equipment.
  • Organizing the material and labor information for pricing.
  • Soliciting material prices from suppliers.
  • Verifying and compare your unit prices or the price of a system with a subcontractor and previous similar estimates.
  • Confirm with architect/owner that all construction documents have been received and send documents to printer.
  • Attend site visits.
  • Call to confirm local building permit rates.
  • Assist in the creation of bid packages for the subs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field
  • 10 to 25 years of experience in building estimating, ground up and interiors
  • Pleasant disposition and team player
  • Likes to mentor and train more junior employees
  • Interest in moving up the management ladder
  • Hate sitting on your hands
  • Solid previous work experience
