Parametric Cost Engineer (Maryland)
   

Company Description:
Work for a national leader in scientific research and development. Location is in Maryland. This person will support their Space Department and business area with cost engineering analysis, statistical modeling and parametric estimates for space missions systems.

Duties

  • Prepare risk-adjusted parametric cost & engineering model estimates for space missions-spanning spacecraft, payloads, etc
  • Perform risk-adjusted regression analysis and mathematical studies to determine independent cost estimates for Space Department Programs and Proposals
  • Train analysts and managers on the principles and application of cost estimation and cost-risk analysis
  • Prepare and present findings
  • Work closely with Engineering and Pricing to ensure complete and accurate costing of work
  • Perform make/buy analysis
Requirements

1. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment
2. Excellent MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power point proficiency
3. Highly motivated self starter
4. Excellent Interpersonal skills
5. Space-mission-specific parametric cost models including NAFCOM, SSCM, USCMKnowledge of spacecraft subsystems architecture and payload composition
6. BS or equivalentMinimum 5-7 years experience in parametric cost estimating, systems engineering, and risk analysis
7. Masters Degree in engineering, mathematics, or statistics PREFERRED
8. Knowledge of NASA cost/schedule/risk/earned-value initiatives
9. 2 years experience with parametric cost models – PRICE, SEER
10. Risk Estimating Tool experience including Crystal Ball, RISK+ FRISK
