Multifamily Design Manager (Northeastern U.S.)

   

Our client is one of the nation's largest private multi-family developers. They are a company dedicated to their employees and believe that success begins with hiring the best people. They are looking for an experienced DESIGN MANAGER to support their Development teams in our Northeast Region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support development teams.
  • Assist in the selection of design consultants for individual projects.
  • Direct oversight of the Design Team of Architects, Structural Engineers, MEP Engineers, Site Civil Engineers, Landscape Architects, Geotechnical Engineers, Environmental Consultants as well as all specialty consultants.
  • Provide direction and assistance from a pre-development management and design development standpoint.
  • Facilitate the coordination of consultants relative to pricing documents and construction documents.
  • Review production schedules relative to consultant activity and submission procedures.
  • Insure selected amenities are shown on the plans and specified in all contract documents.
  • Interpret current building and zoning regulations.
  • Supervise the project design and development process within the regional team framework.
  • Keep the team members focused on the project’s pre-development schedule and coordinate any changes to the schedule.
  • Facilitates the coordination of all construction documents during the design phase.
  • Works closely with consultants to insure timely completion of all construction drawings and coordination between plans and specifications.
  • Identify new ideas, products, and building techniques for implementation into mixed-use multifamily buildings.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • A four-year college degree in architecture or civil engineering and professional knowledge of business discipline is required. Advanced degree is desirable.
  • Seasoned professional with ten plus years experience in architectural design or construction.
  • Ability to read and understand all architectural, civil, MEP, structural, and landscape plans
  • Experience and familiarity with high-rise projects a plus.
  • Experience with and understanding of basic civil engineering and site design principles.
