Mid – Senior level Estimators (Boston)

   

Be part of a team of 4 estimators in a mid-size General Contractor in Northern, MA for the growing Interiors Division of a well managed company going to the next level with new Senior Management. For many of the responsibilities, you will assist the team

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed take offs of materials
  • Prepare detailed labor estimates utilizing man-hours, crews and equipment
  • Organize the material and labor information for pricing
  • Solicit material prices from suppliers
  • Verify and compare your unit prices or the price of a system with a subcontractor and previous similar estimates
  • Confirm with architect/owner that all construction documents have been received and send documents to printer
  • Attend site visits
  • Call to confirm local building permit rates.
  • Assist in the creation of bid packages for the subs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field
  • 5 to 15 years of experience in building estimating, ground up and interiors
  • Relentless curiosity, contributor
  • Pleasant disposition and team player
  • Likes to mentor and train more junior employees
  • Interest in moving up the management ladder
  • Hate sitting on your hands
  • Solid previous work experience
