Junior - Mid Level Estimator: Boston
   

Be part of a team of 12 estimators in a large International General Contractor/Construction Manager in metro Boston area close to public transportation. Projects range from $3 mil to $50 mil +

Responsibilities you will perform on your own or assist (training provided):

  • Prepare detailed take offs of materials.
  • Prepare detailed labor estimates utilizing man-hours, crews and equipment.
  • Organize the material and labor information for pricing.
  • Solicit material prices from suppliers.
  • Verify and compare your unit prices or the price of a system with a subcontractor and previous similar estimates.
  • Confirm with architect/owner that all construction documents have been received and send documents to printer.
  • Attend site visits and client visits
  • Call to confirm local building permit rates.
  • Assist in the creation of bid packages for the subs
  • Assist in client presentations
  • Opportunity to do your own small estimating projects.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field
  • 1 – 10 years of experience in building estimating
  • Sense of humor
  • Relentless curiosity, contributor
  • Pleasant disposition and team player
  • Like to be mentored and learn
  • Interest in moving up the management ladder
  • Hates sitting on your hands
  • Articulate, well presented, interest in becoming part of the client presentation team
