Bowie City Hall Project Commences

"The city of Bowie is moving forward with the development of a new city hall. It has tapped Manekin Construction to begin development on the $15.6-million project. The three-story, 80,000-square-foot facility will be located on a city-owned parcel at 15901 Excalibur Rd., near the Bowie Town Center. The new building will be designed to achieve a LEED Silver rating and will have a green roof.
The project includes the demolition of the current 39,500-square-foot city hall at nearby 2614 Kenhill Dr. The additional space in the new building is necessary to house the police station, which currently operates out of two modular units on the city hall site. Manekin did not return a call to GlobeSt.com in time for publication."
