Downtown Phoenix Hyatt Sold

"The Hyatt Regency Phoenix, the towering 696-room downtown convention hotel, was sold for $96 million, officials announced Wednesday.

Chicago-based Strategic Hotels & Resorts sold the hotel because it plans to focus on its more upscale properties, said Romy Bhojwani, a senior vice president for broker Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. "

West Phoenix To Get Outlet Mall

"Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. plans to join the growing hub of retailers and entertainment venues west of Phoenix with an upscale outlet mall to be built at Loop 101 and Camelback Road.

A 330,000-square-foot Tanger Outlet Center will be constructed on a 30-acre site being purchased from HWWCC Development LLC.

Tanger Outlet Center will feature 80 brand name and designer outlet stores in park-like setting, according to officials from the Greensboro, N.C.-based real estate investment trust Construction is expected to begin next year with a 2010 opening on tap."
