Daytona Beach Targeted By Condo Developer

http://www.news-journalonline.com/
"WCI Communities, which has built nearly 300 condo units in Hammock Dunes over the past four years and nearly 80 condo buildings elsewhere, says Daytona Beach will be its next major development area in Florida.

"In a year or two, we'll be sold out in Hammock Dunes," said Timothy P. Byal, WCI's Northeast Florida division president. "That's why Daytona is so hot on our radar screen right now."

Byal said the company intends to develop other oceanfront condo projects in the Daytona area, but has not purchased any other parcels yet. For now, the company will concentrate on getting the One South Atlantic units pre-sold."

"The Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority is working with a consultant to estimate how many cars would use the beltway, and it is making presentations to government agencies across the Tampa Bay area.

Hoping to break ground by 2010, engineers are using data from the Florida Department of Transportation and Hillsborough County's planning department to map out an exact route. The authority wants to open the toll road by 2015.

"I think it's safe to say we have continued to work on it," said Martin Stone, the expressway authority's planning director. "Some aspects were put on the back burner, but we continued to do technical work."

Huge Las Vegas Parking Garage Break Ground

http://www.rtoonline.com/

" Robert Holgate, Director of Forward Planning for World Market Center, said the parking garage will be immediately north of the third building, which is currently under construction. The garage site plan allows for up to 15 levels.

“The parking garage will help us accommodate our growth as new phases and new buildings come on line,” Holgate said. "We are designing the structure to accommodate the additional growth and have received site development approvals and the current plan check review process is underway with the City of Las Vegas.”

PENTA Building Group is the general contractor for the parking garage as well as Building C, which World Market Center broke ground on in September 2006 and is also scheduled to open in 2008. Prior to the completion of the parking garage, World Market Center has a license agreement for 25 acres to be used for parking through December of 2008 along with an additional 16.9 acres nearby for staging.
